The free introductory seminar

Is it really free?

Do I have to decide at the seminar?

No. At the end we explain the programs and prices clearly. Enrol that night if you want to, later, or never.

Should I cut down before the seminar?

No. You don't need to change anything. Even in the Detox Program itself, you keep smoking until it ends.

How do I join online?

Before the start we text and email your personal link to the online seminar. It opens on a phone and your camera can stay off.

What if I can't make it?

Choose another session from the reminder message. We'll also send you a short summary of the seminar.

Can I bring my partner or parent?

Yes. Tick "I'm bringing someone" when you book. Online, family can simply sit beside you.

Will you pressure me to sign up?

No. We explain the program and answer questions. People who sign up under pressure don't quit under pressure either.

The Smoking Cessation Detox Program

How long has this program been running?

Since 2010. The KarmaQuit founder has taught this method since then, and more than 3,000 people have quit with it.

What are the program's schedule and fees?

All the details of the Detox Program, including its schedule, the support you get and the fee, are explained clearly at the end of the free introductory seminar, so you can decide with full information.

I love smoking. How does the program change that?

In the program you discover exactly what makes you love smoking, and you see that it isn't the cigarette itself. All these years you've smoked for other reasons.

Smoking calms me down. What about stress after I quit?

The calm you feel is mostly relief from the restlessness smoking itself creates. In the program you see what really makes you tense and how to calm down without a cigarette.

Smoking helps me focus. What happens after I quit?

You find out why you can't focus without a cigarette, and how to focus better without one.

I only smoke at parties. Why should I quit?

Once you understand why you smoke at all, your relationship with cigarettes changes and you no longer need them at parties. Even if a crisis comes, the mental and emotional link to smoking is gone.

I don't really want to quit.

Many people who come to us love smoking too; they just don't know how to put it down easily. Our method does what a quit-smoking pill would do, without pills or medication. The free seminar has no commitment: come and listen.

I only smoke one or two a day. Why do I need a detox?

Light smokers are hooked too, and in family or work crises those one or two become more. As long as even one cigarette a week is "stuck" in your mind, you're not free.

What if I don't succeed?

If you attend every session on time, focused, and do the exercises, the way out is open to you, like following a recipe properly. We explain how we support you after the program at the seminar.

What if I go back to smoking later?

A slip can happen, for example after heavy drinking. Like an athlete who twists an ankle and trains again, someone who slips can quit again, more firmly, with our support. We stay with you after the program.

I'm worried I'll gain weight.

We don't stop you smoking so that you miss it; the aim is that the craving disappears. If you don't miss it, there's no gap to fill with food, and you'll have more energy for exercise.

I'm afraid I'll crave cigarettes after the detox.

That is exactly what the program is designed to prevent: the wanting itself switches off, instead of you forcing yourself to refuse.

I'm anxious the detox will be hard.

Most people who complete it are surprised how easy it is. Since you aren't fighting yourself, there's no reason to suffer.

Do I need strong willpower?

Not to quit. You only need it to come to the sessions, listen and do the exercises.

Will I want a cigarette when I drink?

The detox breaks the mental and emotional link to tobacco, so a drink or a coffee no longer reminds you of a cigarette. We don't recommend alcohol or other substances in any way.

Do I have to avoid friends who smoke?

No. After the program you can sit with smokers and feel no urge. Keep your friendships; often they become interested in quitting when they see you.

Can I really keep smoking until the program ends?

Yes. You don't need to cut down before the seminar or during the program. It's part of the method.

Does an online program really work?

Yes. Sessions are live, not recorded: you see the founder and ask questions as you go. Graduates across North America have quit this way online.

Is it only about cigarettes, or other tobacco too?

The Detox Program isn't only about cigarettes. It covers everything that comes from the tobacco plant: cigarettes, hookah (shisha), cigars, pipes and so on. So the idea is not to swap cigarettes for hookah. You become free of tobacco altogether.

How long is the Smoking Cessation Detox Program?

The Detox Program is 16 hours of live sessions in total, plus a two-hour support session after you quit to review how you're doing. How the sessions are arranged and the dates of upcoming programs are announced at the free introductory seminar.

When do people usually smoke their last cigarette?

The Detox Program is timed so that you're ready to smoke your last cigarette after completing all the sessions. That last cigarette isn't smoked in the group or in class; you smoke it in a small ritual, at a place you choose yourself.

Do I need to take days off work to quit?

It's best to keep the two days after the program ends (usually a weekend) for yourself and avoid things that take a lot of energy, such as going to work, going to or hosting parties, travelling and especially driving, so you can focus on quitting. Light exercise (without driving) is fine during these two recovery days.

Do I have to attend every session?

Yes. Plan to attend every session of the Smoking Cessation Detox Program so that you experience its full effect. Full attendance is one of the key conditions for success.

Can I smoke during the program?

Yes. Smoking is allowed throughout the Detox Program, and breaks are announced during the sessions so participants can smoke comfortably.

Do I need to take notes in the sessions?

No. We recommend that you simply pay attention, take part in the discussion and don't take notes.

What is the secret to success in the Detox Program?
  • Follow the instructions
  • Do the exercises
  • Arrive calm before each session
  • Focus on the program content
  • Don't let your attention drift during breaks
  • Attend the whole program, fully and without gaps
